What separates a professional from a criminal—pt. 2

A fellow list member recently replied with a great angle on the recent post What separates a professional from a criminal?

When stakeholders are working outside their domain of expertise, they rely on outside teams to ask appropriate and relevant questions in order to achieve the mutually desired outcome. “You didn’t ask” are three words that a professional external agency should never have to say.

Absolutely right. A "you-didn't-ask-agency" should be embarrassed with themselves.

To pretend I know how to diagnose myself as good as or better than a medical doctor is ridiculous.

If my doctor's excuse is "you didn't ask," well then, I'm probably already dead.

But here's a good question for you: When you're thinking of this doctor that doesn't ask any questions, just lops off limbs and removes internal organs at the request of the patient, what's the impression you get?

Do you think that doctor is high value or low value?
