Boring is badass

I want to clarify something from the recent Liquid death to your brand post:

A "boring" brand is not necessarily a bad thing.

There are some products or services that you WANT to be boring. At the very least, you DON'T want to worry about having to deal with some type of spectacle.

It’s a fine line. So, you gotta know how to do it properly and you gotta be realistic about the results you expect.

“Boring” is going to be doing different things and getting different results than the loud mouthed risk taker.

I don't have a preference for one or the other. My preference is for a brand that is self-aware.

A brand that isn't trying to be something they’re not going to be able to sustain.

Afterall, a “boring” brand is only boring relative to something else. And even after that, it's still a subjective judgment.

There is plenty of badass that can be cultivated from boring.

If everyone at work is buttoned up, neck tie'd, tucked in, pointy shoe'd, then imagine the new guy that shows up untucked, with a bow tie, and wearing sneakers...

HOLY SHIT, WHAT A REBEL.
