X
FKA Twitter
It's the perfect example to show that a logo is not about the technical skill behind the design of the symbol.
A logo is about meaning.
People are PISSED. Do you really think it's about the stupid logos? No, it's about what these symbols mean to them. And more importantly, what the change means to them.
Let's break the symbols down. The X is basically two rectangles turned 30-ish or so degrees in opposite directions. The Twitter bird is essentially a bunch of circles.
People are not mad because they have to look at rectangles instead of circles. They're not mad because they have to look at an X instead of a bird.
They're mad because Twitter is gone.
It's a symbolic moment.

PS. Reply if you think I'm full of shit.
PPS. I'm sooooo surprised (sarcasm) that pretentious designers and agencies are having a hard time with the X rebrand. These agencies are the first ones to dismiss the tasteless normies that complain about the rebrands they create. You'd think these agencies would know that change is hard. It takes time. And it just feels like a big deal right now. Why would it be different this time? Because it's a brand they love that is being rebranded in a way they don't approve? Nah dude, get out of here with that.
