Is there a word for when things are so naively “bad” that they become charming? Sorta like camp in films.
I recently discovered that this undefinable state is something that I’ve loved for my entire life and it has greatly influenced who I am. The sign at an old favorite local liquor store has this serendipitous charm. My wife pointed out the sign years ago and it’s stuck with me all this time.
The way the letters feel drunk is so amazing. Was it on purpose? If so, it is done with mastery.
So naturally, I had to pay my respect and try to design something un-designed. I don’t think it’s quite as charming but it at least looks official. The mock ups really brought it to life. I had fun with those.
