Keeping the main thing the main thing
This is such a great quote (sorry, I don’t remember where I got it because I suck at taking notes):
"The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing."
I want to say that purpose, mission, and vision statements are kinda stupid.
Sure, they can feel overly aspirational and not connected to reality.
But when you're confused about what to do
Or overwhelmed
Or stuck
You can just refer to your main thing to simplify decision making.
These stupid statements may not do much day to day.
But when you really need, they're there to ease the burden.

PS. That quote was a random one I noted down from The Daily Dad. I highly recommend the book for any parent, not just dads.
